Description:
A Very Fine Pair of Barr Flight & Barr Worcester Porcelain Dessert plates, 1804-1807. Painted in the manner of Thomas Baxter (1782-1821)
Each with an arrangement of shells, seaweed & coral in rich colours reflecting the contemporary interest in natural history and marine subjects. The circular reserve is set against a burnt orange ground enclosed by a broad border of continuous scrolling gilt foliate ornament. Full script mark in puce & incised “B”. Provenance: Sotheby & Co.
