A Fine pair of Coalport Porcelain Dessert Plates, circa 1815

Each with a wide gilt Greek Key border upon a deep cobalt blue ground, a band of gilt oak leaves within and centred with a full colour armorial within a garter and a badger crest. Diam: 8.25in. Motto: Vis Unita Fortior (United strength is stronger)

Family: Brookes Possibly that of Sir Arthur Brooke KCB (1772 – 26 July 1843) was an Irish officer of the British Army during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, and the Peninsular War and War of 1812. He rose to the rank of lieutenant-general.
