A GEORGE III IRISH SILVER GILT SWING HANDLED SUGAR BASKET AND BLUE GLASS LINER. WILLIAM THOMPSON, DUBLIN C.1780. The circular, ogee-shaped bowl with blue glass liner raised on a domed foot with gadrooned border to a cast, floral handle, the pierced sides decorated with laurel garlands, leaves, flowerhead medallions and swags, 14.2cm dia., 9.1cm high (exc. handle), approx. weight (exc. liner) 12.5ozt
