A RARE AND IMPORTANT FLIGHT BARR & BARR WORCESTER PORCELAIN BREAKFAST CUP & SAUCER FROM THE PRINCE REGENT SERVIVE CIRCA 1815.
Of a generous size, finely painted and gilded with the Prince of Wales feathers surmounted by a crown and inscribed Honi soit qui mal y pense, the rich blue borders with anthemion bands raised in gold, the cup with a scrolled gilt handle. Impressed FBB crowned marks, and with the most elaborate of marks within a circle referring to manufacturers to Their Majesties and The Prince Regent and with the Royal Cypher and the Prince of Wales Feathers.This large cup and saucer is from a breakfast service made for the Prince Regent, the future King George IV in 1815. A set of seven identical cups and saucers are in the Royal Collection together with various other pieces from the service.
