AN IMPRESSIVE DERBY PORCELAIN VASE, CIRCA 1815. PAINTED BY WILLIAM "QUAKER" PEGG (1775-1851)
Of large two handled Campana form raised on a square base. The flared rim with an inner continuos gilded motif band, the body superbly painted with a variety of English flowers.
Peggs immense skill as a flower painter is well documented and according to John Twitchett (Derby Porcelain) he was "one of the finest natural flower painters ever to paint on china"
