A SUPERB MID 18TH CENTURY LIBRARY TABLE. GEORGE II CIRCA 1750.
The moulded oblong top rising on a ratchet, providing a reading and writing slope, the dummy front sliding forward on recessed castors revealing a baized slide and well, over various fitted compartments and a side opening semi circular drawer for ink bottles and pens. It is worth noting the elements that enhance this piece, such as the inner carved columns with recessed castors, the carved "C" scrolls, the opposing hidden candle slides and the large original brass lock plates.
