AN EXCEPTIONAL FLIGHT BARR & BARR WORCESTER VASE, CIRCA 1820.

Description:

AN IMPRESSIVE FLIGHT BARR & BARR WORCESTER VASE AND COVER, CIRCA 1820. Of amphora form, the domed cover with a gilt flame finial over the vase with twin scrolled handles with applied white and gilt flowers & white pearl beading, applied gilt and white anthemion wrap around the base which is raised on a spreading circular foot with gilt gadroon border and on a square base. The whole is reserved upon a pale apple green ground. Two finely painted named scenes are set within raised gilded cartouches: “Virginia Water” and “ Muckross Abbey-Great Lake Killarney” Flight Barr & Barr Royal Porcelain Works Worcester & impressed crown & FBB.
