Description:

 A SUPERB CHAMBERLAINS WORCESTER CHOCOLATE CUP, COVER & STAND CIRCA 1795-1800The loop gilt handled cover with an outer band of gilded lozenges and an inner band of gilt work stars & crescents on a pale salmon ground. The cup with twin gilt loop handles, a corresponding gilt lozenge band and a wider band with gilt medallions on a pale salmon ground, the saucer matching the cover. Central brightly painted panel of a rural scene with a village in the distance, and dancing figures of gentlefolk in the foreground watched by spectators, entitled “Vide, Deserted Village” Marked Chamberlains Worcester N 299.
