A VERY ELEGANT SHERATON PERIOD ROSEWOOD & PARQUETRY WORK TABLE. GEORGE III, CIRCA 1785
A delicate and pretty work and occasional table. Of oblong octagonal form the rising crossbanded top (revealing a sewing compartment) with an overall parquetry inlay of exotic veneers, above a panelled frieze and raised on four slender square and tapering legs, united by concave stretchers. The whole is strung with satinwood. The inlaid veneers have aged to a lovely medley of warm honey colours.
