Description:
A SUPERB CHAMBERLAIN'S WORCESTER ENTREE DISH & COVER, CIRCA 1802.
The pale salmon ground decorated with a radiating basket weave pattern and the border with gilded floral and scrollwork. A painted crest (of Newton) appears twice on the cover and once on the dish. Script makers marks. This service is recorded in the sales records at the Worcester Museum, where it shown that it was ordered in June/July 1802 by a Michael Newton of 29 Upper Harley Street, and the order was probably placed through Chamberlain's New Bond Street showrooms.
