A SUPERB QUALITY OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE SILVER WINE COOLER, GEORGE IV, CIRCA 1825.
Of campana form with a removable cover and liner, the rim with a heavy gadroon over a collar of grapes and vine leaves. The medallion and foliate scroll handles with bacchanalian face masks, the body with spreading acanthus leaves and hanging bunches of grapes, over a gadrooned stem on a circular foot with a continuous leaf band.
