A PAIR OF EXCEPTIONAL MID 19TH CENTURYGILTWOOD OPEN ARMCHAIRS. ENGLISH CIRCA 1845.
Beautifully & ornately carved & gilded with profuse decoration. The round backs surmounted by carved groupings of musical instruments and sheet music, & with a continuous ribbon & foliate border, over open padded arms ending in fabulous carved rams heads, over bow fronted seats raised on four fluted tapering legs with carved drapery. Completely re-upholstered in “Versailles” silk.
