A FINE QUEEN ANNE PERIOD WALNUT BUREAU, ENGLISH, CIRCA 1710.
Of outstanding colour & patination veneered & cross banded with herringbone line throughout, and retaining all original backplates, handles & escutcheons.
The fall front with original book rest, opening to reveal a lovely fitted interior with arched top shelves and drawers around a central cupboard and with a hidden recessed compartment in front of the leathered writing surface; and over two short & two long drawers on a moulded base raised on high square bracket feet.An exceptional early 18th Century bureau.
