Description:

A VERY FINE GEORGE III MARQUETRY SERPENTINE COMMODE IN THE STYLE OF PIERRE LANGLOIS. ENGLISH CIRCA 1775.

Exquisitely veneered in harewood and cross banded in kingwood and inlaid with a variety of exotic veneers including satinwood & rosewood. The serpentine top with inlaid trailing flowers and birds over three serpentine drawers with inlaid flower garlands, the top drawer fitted with a retractable brushing slide, and over a shaped frieze. The serpentine sides inlaid with bouquets of flowers.

Retaining its original Rococo ormolu mounts.
