A Rare & Unusual Suite of Scottish Silvergilt Tale Plateaus, by George Edwards & Sons, Glasgow 1879.
Each of circular shape, superbly cast in the form of a craggy Scottish moor with rocks, trees and wildfowl. Inset with circular mirror plates and raised on three embossed flat bun feet.
George Edwards operated from 92 Buchanan Street, Glasgow, and was considered to be a leading Scottish silversmith at the time. The detail & quality of workmanship in these pieces is testament to his skills.
