Description:

A FINE CHIPPENDALE PERIOD OVAL TRAY, CIRCA 1775.

Of oval form with two brass carrying handles, the oval scalloped frieze with a tooled brass edge. Cross banded in satinwood & quarter veneered in padouk & inlaid with a central mahogany panel with a narrow crossbanding and a satinwood band inset with continuous ribbon decoration. Inlaid with foliate fronds on the quartering, and enriched with penwork detailing.
