Description: A very fine pair of BARR FLIGHT & BARR porcelain dessert plates, circa 1804-1807. Probably painted by Thomas Baxter. Decorated with a central circular panel painted with shells & seaweed, within a border with gilt stylised flower & leaf scrolls upon an orange ground. Full script mark in puce & incised B. Provenance: Sotheby & Co. Important English Porcelain 12th March 1974. (Illustrated). Property of the late Richard Mellon Scaife, Pittsburgh, USA.
