Description:

AN 18TH CENTURY MAHOGANY STICK BAROMETER BY WILLIAM WATKINS. GEORGE III, CIRCA 1790.

With an engraved silvered face including a vernier gauge and thermometer surmounted by a humidity dial, the chevron veneered case with inlaid stringing.

Engraved with makers name William Watkins, St. James's Street London. Watkins is recorded as working 1784-1809, initially at 22 St. James's Street and the subsequently at no. 70.
