Description:

A VERY FINE 18TH CENTURY HEPPLEWHITE PERIOD MAHOGANY SERPENTINE COMMODE. GEORGE III, CIRCA 1780. Of desirable elegant small proportions and of excellent Quality, crafted using fine fiddleback mahogany with satinwood crossbanding and box line stringing.The moulded serpentine top and sides with a deep overhang, over three graduated long drawers with their original fire gilded cast handles, flanked by fluted inlaid round columns to the front and corresponding inlaid columns to the sides; over a moulded serpentine base and raised on carved and inlaid tapering fluted legs with beaded ring borders.
