Description:

A FINE PAIR OF CHAMBERLAIN'S WORCESTER PORCELAIN DESSERT PLATES, CIRCA 1807.

Superbly decorated with a full colour central armorial, crest & motto, surrounded by a wide & elaborately finished band of diamond gilt-work with shamrock motifs.

Created for the occassion of the marriage of John George (Monson) 4th Baron Monson (b.1st Sept 1785-d. 14th Nov 1809) and Lady Sarah Elizabeth Saville (b. 4th Feb 1786-d.1851) 1st daughter of John (Saville) 2nd Earl of Mexborough (Donnegal, Ireland) on 30th Oct 1807.

The Monson family motto: Prest pour mon pais (Ready for my Country)
