A FINE QUALITY 18TH CENTURY FRENCH HEPPLEWHITE STYLE CYLINDER BUREAU DESK. ENGLISH, GEORGE III, CIRCA 1780.

A most elegant beautifully crafted bombe shaped bureau, veneered in its entirety with exotic West Indian veneers including satinwood, rosewood & tulipwood to an outstanding geometric design.

The top with a single shallow drawer over a cylinder desk, the front rising to reveal a leathered writing surface and a central arrangement of cubbyholes for paper, letters etc., flanked on each side by four short graduated drawers, one fitted for ink bottles; and over a shaped long drawer and two shaped short drawers flanking the kneehole. The whole raised on shaped cabriole legs.
