Description: A Fine George III Chippendale Period Demi-Lune Satinwood Card Table, Irish, circa 1775. Inlaid and with rosewood crossbanding, the hinged demi-lune top with a central half circle inlaid with radial thistles, over a crossbanded panelled frieze with delicate swags of inlaid flowers and leaves, the floral decoration repeated in ovals on the leg capitals and down the four square and tapering legs. The whole of a superb colour and patination. PROVENANCE: Formerly the Property of the Metropolitan Museum, New York Bequeathed by The Rogers Fund, 1912. And formerly The Irvine Family, Necarne Castle (formerly Irvine Castle), Co. Fermanagh, Ireland
