A FINE LATE 18TH CENTURY TULIPWOOD CROSS BANDED & INLAID SATINWOOD STRIKING BRACKET CLOCK. GEORGE III, 1786. 

Thwaites Movement Numbered 1282 Made in 1786 Richad Clarke & Sons, Cheapside, London. The balloon shaped case surmounted with a gilded urn finial & gilded grills and with a 7” round white enamelled dial with Roman hours, raised on four gilded brass feet. The eight day two train gut fuse movement with recoil anchor escapement and rack stricking on a bell, engraved and signed back plate(Thwaites); with pendulum, on a later corresponding bracket. Height: 21” Width: 11in Depth: 7.25 in.
