Description: A very rare pair of Old Sheffield plate silver stirrup cups, circa 1800, almost certainly by Tudor & Leader. Naturalistically modelled in the form of fox heads, with fine chasing resembling the fur, thread border and mercurial gilt interiors. Example shown in Undertstanding Antique Silver Plate by Stephen J Helliwell page 117 and in the Weston Park Museum, Sheffield, Accession Number 1978.550.
