AN OUTSTANDING REGENCY ROSEWOOD AND BRASS INLAID READING/WORK TABLE, CIRCA 1820. The oblong rising top with a book rest over a single drawer fitted with various compartments and over a sliding work box. Flanked by two semi-circular lidded compartments, one fitted for writing paraphernalia. Raised on twin end spreading supports and plinth bases with four superb cast and gilded foliate and scroll feet. Superbly decorated with intricate brass inlay. An impressive piece of Regency excess, beautifully executed to the highest quality.
