Description:
A FINE FLIGHT BARR & BARR WORCESTER PORCELAIN MINIATURE VASE, CIRCA 1815. Of cylindrical form with a trailing harebell inner gilt rim, with beaded white collar & gilt bird’s head and ring handles, set against a pink ground with gilt neoclassical motifs. The central full-colour enamel reserve depicts Olney Church, Buckinghamshire, accompanied by an extract from William Cowper’s The Task (1785): “Tall spire from which the sound of cheerful bells /Just undulates upon the list’ning ear.”
The underside retains full maker’s marks for Flight, Barr & Barr, confirming its manufacture & Royal patronage during this celebrated period of Worcester production. Height: 3.5in.
