A VERY RARE 18TH CENTURY SATINWOOD OVAL DECANTER BOX. GEORGE III CIRCA 1780. OF RARE FORM & SIZE AND OF EXCELLENT QUALITY THROUGHOUT AND RETAINING ITS ORIGINAL SIX GLASS DECANTERS & STOPPERS.
The oval top with an oval panel of satinwood within triple crossbandings of rosewood and tulipwood & with box & ebony line stringing. The straight sided oval body inset with an oval satinwood panel to the front within an oblong panel of fiddleback mahogany, the sides with panels of fiddleback mahogany with crossbanded quartered corners. The hinged lid opens to reveal a fitted interior containing six original cut glass spirit decanters & stoppers, each with script engraved initials.
