A VERY FINE REGENCY PERIOD ROSEWOOD GAMES TABLE. GEORGE IV, CIRCA 1825.
Of superb design and with excellent use of well figured and rare veneers and enhanced with applied ormolu mounts. The oblong top cross banded in coromandel (sourced from South East Asia), the sliding central section revealing a back gammon playing surface and reversing to reveal a chequers board; the frieze with opposing narrow drawers for counters/playing pieces; raised on scroll lyre end supports and swept feet united by a turned stretcher and terminating in gilt hairy lions paw feet.
