Description:
A FINE LATE 18TH CENTURY MAHOGANY DEMI-LUNE TEA TABLE. CIRCA 1780. PROBABLY SCOTTISH.
The hinged demi-lune top cross banded in rosewood with box line stringing and with a central demi paterae in satinwood with a penwork sunflower, opening to reveal a mahogany surface. Above a frieze with crossbanded panels and with a single hidden drawer (Scottish feature) and inlaid satinwood flutes to the leg capitols, raised on square and tapering legs with line stringing and block feet. The whole of a superb mellow colour and patination.
