A Very Fine Flight, Barr & Barr Worcester Porcelain Campana Vase, circa 1815–20

Of elegant campana form, with superbly gilded twisted vine-stem and vine-leaf handles, a gilded gadrooned rim and, unusually, decorated with a continuous and beautifully painted landscape scene, seamlessly flowing from “Lake Windermere, Westmorland” to “Binstead Cottage, Isle of Wight.” The scenes reserved on a rich green ground, divided by a white pearl-beaded waist, and raised on a square base with finely gilded and burnished decoration.

Marks: Impressed crown and FBB; full red script inscription to underside, Flight Barr & Barr Royal Porcelain Works, Worcester, London House, 1 Coventry Street, London.
