A FLIGHT BARR & BARR WORCESTER DESSERT DISH
Circa 1813–1819. Of elegant oval scalloped form, the rim crisply moulded with a gadrooned border and richly heightened in burnished gilding, the well superbly decorated in polychrome enamels with a heraldic crest surmounted by a scrolling banner and inscribed with the motto “Pro Vide Reg et Lege” (“For King, law and the people”), and enclosed by a broad pale salmon ground border, finely embellished with trailing gilt strawberry vines, the gilding of notably high quality and typical of the refined output of the factory during this period.
