Description: A most unusual fine quality single old Sheffield plate silver sauce tureen & cover. Of oval lidded form with heavy cast foliate ornate mounts and very unusual scrolled foliate handles. The body with an engraved armorial within a mounted oblong cartouche, and with an opposing crest within a similar cartouche.
